JPB's Review of Rocky Boots Lynx Waterproof Snake Boot - Men's
Got them laced up and went for a hike through the woods, creeks, clearcut, etc. They were comfortable for a brand new pair of boots. No blisters, surprisingly.
The problem I have is with the zippers. Why is zipper technology so poor? Where are the boots that have working zippers? This is my third set, starting with Cabela's brand for $250, then Lacrosse for $210, and now these Rocky boots for $160. All of these had poorly manufactured zippers. It's like all the money is spent on every other part of the boot, and then these zippers are bought with the couch change left over. The Cabela's brand had an interior flap to prevent the inner boot material from getting caught in the zipper. Outstanding idea! But then they used dollar store zippers. These Rocky boots appear to have a mediocre zipper, bit no inner flap, so the boot material gets hung in the zipper on the way up AND on the way down. I had to get pliers to pull the zipper off the material.
Unfortunately I'll have to send these back and look for a FOURTH pair. I really want the zipper, but it's becoming clear to me that the technology is really lagging and needs a breakthrough design. That, or the executives need to start their research and development with the zipper FIRST, then design the boot around it.
