Legacy Reviewer's Review of Safariland 6360 ALS Level III w/ Ride UBL Holster - STX Basket Weave, Right Hand 6360-4192-481

This holster is being used with a Smith & Wesson M&P 45 with an attached Streamlight TLR-1s. The ALS provides an extra level of retention, but releases quickly as part of my normal draw motion. Compared to the standard 6280 non-light holster, retention when pulled from the side and all other retention devices have been disabled is not as good. This is probably because I moved from a non-light holster to a light holster, and the amount of lining making contact with the pistol in the light bearing holster is much lower. One other thing I noticed is that it is possible to sneak a finger inside the holster and pull the trigger while the light is holstered. The included instruction manual said this is a common issue with light bearing holsters. The trigger guard is covered from the side, so this is NOT a major safety concern where the trigger could get caught on something sticking out like a piece of rebar or a tree branch. It takes a concentrated effort, and small fingers, to get down between the holster and trigger guard then over to the trigger. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and I will continue to recommend Safariland holsters to my friends and co-workers.
Pros: Instant retention upon re-holstering, smooth draw
Cons: Pull retention not as good as non-light bearing Safariland holster
