Suits my needs - Safariland 6367 ALS Belt Slide Holster - Plain Black, Right 6367-146-61

I am not in law enforcement, but if I were I would probably use this holster for duty use. This holster rides high and stays close to your body. I find that the higher riding holster is more comfortable to sit down with. Of course, one would have to get use to the high reach for a quick draw. Someone with a bad, or limited, shoulder motion might not appreciate a high riding holster. I believe that you can get a different belt loop attachment piece that would lower the holster 1 inch. Also an optional piece that allows for a belt wider than 1.75 in. is available. Because it's sit high and close to the body it allows for better concealed carry with an outer garment. The holster is labeled for use with a springfield XDM .40 but it works with my XDM .45 (4.5in barrel).









Pros: Well made and the plain black finish model is covered with a nice looking leather. The automatic locking system works well. Once the hood is pushed out of the way the release lever is pushed back with your thumb as you grip your gun in the proper way for drawing. It will not hinder your drawing speed if done properly. Excellent holster if you want higher retention features along with a better concealment if needed.
Cons: Can't think of any cons. I was originally concerned about the hood mechanism binding too much when you press down, but a little oil greatly improved it. Plus a little break-in time will probably help polish the metal to metal surface contact which would help some also.
