Curt's Review of Safariland Model 6354 ALS DO Drop-Leg Glock Holster

Well I still fell like I'm that one loser that just had to put an Aimpoint ACRO on a Glock 34 and have had no luck finding much info online about Level 1 retention Holster compatibility. I took the risk at going with the 6354DO, and I will admit that I did have to do some minor milling to both the frame of the holster as well as the locking mechanism. The ACRO sight sits very forward on the MOS cut and is also very vertical (not slightly angled rearward like other red dot sights). My initial thought is that I may have some issues with the "DO" hood height...not the case. It took me about 15 minutes with a sharp knife and took off about 1/8" of the frame just in front of the optic hood, and then maybe shaved 1/32" or so off the objective side of the tan colored locking mechanism. No structural integrity loss with these minor reworks. Holster retains perfectly now and I am happy with the purchase. My only reason for 4 stars is that I feel that Safariland should offer an holster option that universally fits all Glock MOS optic options out there. I have even seen reviews where some people are saying they had to make a similar modification for an RMR. Now if that happened to me, I'd give 1 star for this holster as I feel the RMR is the gold standard for pistol mounted optics (aka OG #1). Hope some other poor ACRO fan boy finds this review helpful...
