Beans's Review of Safariland 6354RDS ALS Glock 19 MOS Tactical Drop Leg Holster w/QLS 19 Holster Locking Fork
Amazing. Small differences from my most relatable Safariland holsters (6378USN and 6360-8252). The small differences make a huge impact.
For starters, the 6354RDS-2832 is my 1st brand new and latest generation of Safariland OWB holsters I own.
The leverage on the RDS holsters is perfect and the throw seems slightly more. This holster doesn’t seem to need a nub. The Holosun SCS can clear the RDS shield in the down position.
Locks up other no light or no red dot Glocks securely as any ALS I have (G23gN3-G36gN3). This is the last holster I should ever need for the Glock 19 gN3 Holosun SCS with TLR7 X or HL. Flys in and out of the holster. As well and as fast as I am safely able to draw to be perfectly clear. My pistol is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction during this review- unboxing. One more thing. The 6354RDS lever throw may or may not be more but It is much faster and easy. That said, I do have to focus on the follow through to not allow the ALS to reengage before the pistol is fully clear.
Oh yeah: Unboxing-unzipping proprietary Safariland plastic re-sealable bag. Holster with cardboard spacer and silica snack pack. OEM neutral scent. Important papers, 1/8” hex key and 1” tape (used).
If you have a like pistol and any reservations. Don’t. I waited for a good sale and picked mine up at $180 OTD.
This is only my initial impression from unboxing to dry-firing.
Thanks,
I thought about sizing up to fit 17 or 34 Glocks (not all at once). Ha.
Glad I didn’t. The muzzle landing block helps keeps the pistol aligned for a more consistent draw- every time. Floating a smaller Glock in a holster meant for a larger slide is cool and ok in a pinch. Great for marketing too but no thanks. In a non QLS environment, I can see the merit.
Hope this was as helpful as the 11% discounts.
