Worked fine for awhile, now multiple problems - Sangean AM/FM/Aux-in Tuning Clock Radio

I've had this for awhile, so out of warranty, but an item such as this should last nearly forever, right? Well, now the brightness is either BRIGHT or off, no in-between. The volume varies by itself; I thought it might be the station, but no, it does it on all stations.

It's fairly expensive for a clock radio, but I now need to replace it. Unless Sangean reads this and steps up to the plate with a free replacement, adios.
