Jerald's Review of SB Tactical SOB-47 Pistol Stabilizing Brace for AK47/74

I installed this brace on a Century Arms M92 PAP AK pistol. The instructions say, and I quote, to "remove or loosen your pistol grip. Place the forked end of the AK brace adapter on the underside of the receiver insuring the grip screw can pass between the forks. Re-attach your pistol grip and tighten, to LOCK brace into place." I contend that tightening the grip screw, no matter how tight you can get it, will not LOCK anything into place. The adapter plate should not be "forked". If it can "pass" the grip screw on installation it can certainly pass the grip screw if enough pressure can be put on it in the opposite direction. The adapter plate should be solid with a hole in it that can be placed over the grip screw trunnion. This arrangement would keep the brace from pulling completely off the rifle. Oh yes, the reason I was pulling on the brace was to get it off the buffer tube so I could wrap electrical tape around it (also in the instruction) to keep it from moving left and right. I have the SB Tactical brace on my Sig Sauer MPX and it is perfect. This AK brace, however, is FUBAR.
