You can't take videos, only snapshots. If you're in the forest, the device registers the air temperature and anything a couple of degrees higher than air will glow. So you won't be able to see anything because everything is glowing. That will impede anyone using this for security purposes, especially outdoors. A parking lot will glow with the cars if the temperature is higher by just a few degrees.

The biggest downfall is that you can't adjust temperature, making it useless.
