I have four of the older versions of this combination rod and reel set and these seem to be just as much of a deal. The rod colors do not match and the guide's are all stainless steel without ceramic inserts. I have seen those ceramic inserts fall out on more than one older rod so I can understand why they did that. The reels and drags are smooth but the counter feels a little sloppy while resetting zero.
