James's Review of Sheffield Sykes Fairbairn Fixed Knife
I received this knife a full day earlier than the expected delivery date and time. This is a double edged combat dagger mainly designed for thrusting. I have not yet tested it in its intended role, but should I ever be pressed into employing it as God, William Fairbairn and Eric Sykes had in mind, I will update this or write a new review. It does have the unfortunate F-S tang, so I shant be using it as a prybar (I have screwdrivers for that) or a screwdriver (I have prybars for that). This knife is a very strange combination of solid and light, which may violate the laws of physics. The point and both edges are sharp, with almost no variation that would call attention to a rushed or sloppy manufacture. The handle is perfectly round with the ring grip, which doesn't give the user any information on blade orientation in the dark, however, the oval crossguard will tell that to repositioned fingers.
Pros:
- High quality, sharp
Cons:
- Narrow tang, perfectly round handle
Best Used for:
- Thrusting and Stabbing
