The *standard mag* has a larger chamfer angle to disengage the mag release than the larger 10 rd mag. This may very well be why the *standard mag* WILL seat WITHOUT the aid of using the mag release to INSERT and seat it.
This is an odd thing (depressing the mag release) to remember and do while loading your firearm.

- stiff spring
Cons:
- Loading requires mag release to be depressed
- Failure to seat magazine securely
- NOT as reliable as OEM 8 rd mag
Best Used for:
- use at the range
- non emergency usage
