Jim's Review of SIG SAUER FOXTROT2 580 Lumens Weapon Light
I won't really have a solid answer for a while on this one. I really like the smaller form factor when compared to the TLR-1 which makes re-holstering far smoother. What I don't know is how durable this thing is going to be. I do know it's not nearly as bright as what I have been using but I will reserve judgement on that for a while. My TLR-1 could almost blind you in some settings indoors. By policy, we do not use our weapons light for illumination under any circumstance except for when our weapon is being drawn to meet a threat. Battery life isn't a deal breaker under the constraints of how I have to use it.
Buy with confidence if it's a night stand or range toy application. Day in and day out abuse on a duty pistol will be a different story.
Shipping was fast and even though the light was listed as a "Demo" at a deep discount the packaging had never been opened.
It came with two rechargeable batteries. I keep the spare in my gear bag in the cruiser and can change out in just a few seconds without removing the light from the weapon.
It's not a Surefire. Not even close. If my agency were buying my light I'd ask for the Surefire but they don't so here we are.
