Limited range, display disappears... - SIG SAUER Kilo1250 6x20mm Laser Range Finding Monocular

Unit shipped earlier than expected, arrived well packaged as expected from Opticsplanet. I wanted to use this range finder for work as a backup to my Swarovski in urban environment against concrete, steel, and glass structures in the 100-800 yard range. Unfortunately this unit will not read glass structures even if you aim at steel frame elements. The blackish display is also not viewable against dark paint colors. Works well against light color concrete buildings provided the distance is less than 800 yards. If distance is farther than 800 yards the unit will not read distance, which is well below manufacturers claimed range. The case is designed to be used with narrow dress type belt, and does not adequately secure or protect the range finder. There is a simple stitched belt loop and no clip or adjustable Velcro retention strap. The case lid is secured with tiny bungy strap and frail plastic hook. This case is suitable for a walk through a park but definitely not for hiking, hunting, or duty use.
