Johnny Powell's Review of SIG SAUER Whiskey5 5-25 x 52 mm Rifle Scope 30 mm First Focal Plane (FFP)

I bought this scope about 3 weeks ago and have it zeroed and ready to stretch it out. The reason that I went with this pricey SFP scope is because I wanted a great SFP scope that wasn't a mile ling and didn't weigh as much as a brick. The Whiskey5 hits all of that. Light transmission is great and it has the same glass as the Tango6, as well as the Razor HD and Nightforce. Power range is smooth and stiff so as not to over rev. Clicks were very true and easy to zero. I mounted this scope on my Bergara B14 HMR 6.5 CM and I used low height Vortex Precision Matched Rings with plenty of clearance even though it has a 52mm obj. Setting the zero stop was a bit to figure out, so I watched Sig's video on how to do it. Once setup it is 100% on and solid. Oddly enough, I have 74 MOA of usable up travel adjust. Sig claims 50 MOA total for this scope on the spec sheet. The level flex is a an awesome thing, no need for a bible level, which saves some weight and cut some time when mounting the scope. Another reason I chose this scope was the capped windage adjustment. Since this a dual purpose setup and I rarely adjust for windage so that just takes one variable out of the equation when running and gunning on the hunt. Parallax is accurate and true as well. The one I bought is the MOA Milling Hunter reticle, this reticle has a floating center dot which is great for accurate target acquisition at long range. Would definitely purchase again and recommend this scope for anyone wanting a quality dual purpose scope. Finally, Sig was super quick sending out my custom SBT elevation knob for my Creedmoor.
