If you read about this mount in reviews and elsewhere, you'll read that it won't accept the Romeo1 RDS. This is not true although a bit of fitting is required.
Caveat: I'm not a machinist. Never hold a workpiece in your hand when using powered rotating machinery. If you fumble and wind up not being able to count higher than nine without taking off your shoes, I'm not responsible. I warned you! :-)
To install a Romeo1 on this mount, you'll need the following:
2 M4-0.7 X 10MM socket head screws
Machinist's drill bits #22, #23 and #24 - do NOT attempt this with ordinary drill sets
Milling machine, drill press or other method to turn drill bits
A method to turn the screw head diameter to 0.24"
Cold blue
400 grit sandpaper
You'll need to open the Romeo1's mounting screw holes to accept the M4 screws as the OEM mounting screws are smaller. You may find it difficult to clamp this sight in a vise. The only such surfaces are the sides of the sight hood, which I don't recommend as any significant pressure will deform the hood and crack or break the sight window, and the parallel surfaces at the rear of the sight. The sight body material is relatively soft so use caution when clamping and reaming. Use the #24, #23 and #22 machinist's bits in that order to ream the screw holes to a diameter that will accept the M4 screws.
You'll also need to reduce the diameter of the screws' socket heads. The OEM screw heads measure approximately 0.24 by calipers. I turned the diameter to the proper dimension, then deburred and cold blued the screw heads. There are methods that don't require a lathe; I leave these to your imagination and research.
Installation from there is easy. Place the two locating pins included with the sight in the holes that correspond to the holes on the bottom of the sight. Install the M4 screws as you would if you were mounting the sight on a P320RX slide (that's where mine came from). Use blue threadlocking compound to ensure that the sight screws don't loosen. You're done!
You now have a Sig Romeo1 on a riser that's useful, instead of sitting on a P320RX slide in the safe (and if you've been paying attention lately you know why the 320 isn't coming out of the safe). With the Romeo1 mounted it will be a absolute co-witness sight.
