BlakeTX's Review of SIG SAUER Whiskey3 3-9x50mm Rifle Scope 1 inch Tube, Second Focal Plane

I bought the SOW33205 model 09/2019 (from another vendor) for a Grendel AR project I was putting together. Once I received the scope, I was impressed with the overall look of it. The edges aren’t as crisp as other scopes I have but that’s expected from the price difference. Not knocking it for that. Haven’t had any zero issues, had more issues with the rifle Accuracy that wasn’t the scopes fault so I can’t say it’s awesomely precise, I haven’t had the rifle shooting well and enough to have enough experience with its accuracy repeatability. Main complaint and reason for its 2 stars, Over the past 6 months, I have noticed that it seemed like the illumination power knob seemed to get easier to turn on and off and it would get accidentally turned on easily. Yesterday while riding my ranger and checking feeders and looking for hogs, I noticed something fell into the floor so I stopped to see what it was. The knob completely fell off with 4 screws sticking out and the rear battery contacts were exposed. Not sure how they backed out, did not see signs of stripping either. Will be getting in contact with Sig and I’m confident it will get resolved but since it happened in the field during use, it would have been more of an inconvenience than anything. I like the scope other than that issues, seems to do everything I’m going to expect from it on a hog/coyote night hunting rig and occasional deer rifle.
Pros:
  • low light
  • Quality on a budget
Cons:
  • Clarity issues at edges
  • knob fell off
