Great for camping - Sightmark Ghost Hunter 1x24 Night Vision Goggle Kit

Comment for casual night enthusiasts:

Definitly a step up from the Night Vision toy products. The "skull crusher" head gear fit really well and was easy to assemble.
The opics don't work well when there's no moonlight but that should be a problem unless your hiding from other dudes with night vision.
It would be nice if there was a lateral slide optic function on the head gear for easier eye adjustment.

Also there's "no auto dimmer function" incase a light hit your optics.


Comment for airsofters:

Pros: If no one else using night vision at the field you can use IR illuminate to navigate around to give you a noticable advantage.

Cons: It's still a Gen 1, so it's goona be blurry and when viewing passivly (IR Illuniator Turned off). In passive mode they will be useless if there's no moon light. Plus, If someone else has NOD's too there gonna see you when you turn on your IR. So if your looking for a good or passable night opics device to that allows you to see in the dark with out giving away your position...save your pennies for Gen 2's or Gen 3's.

Oh yeah...there needs to be a mechanical function to laterally slide the optics to the right or left (depending on which eye you prefer)...so when you put the head gear on it does set to the right or left but it's still too far to the center. I was still able to bend the device enough to look through...but at a crooked angle.


Closing Comments: for my specific needs it fell short...BUT...it's still a really cool product for casual uses: camping (must...get...to...bathroom), find stuff in the dark.
