Damage to your firearm warning - SightMark ReadyFire LW-R5 Red Laser Sight

Do not follow the installation instructions included with this product. Page 5 of the instructions states to tighten the clamp mounting screw to 45 to 65 inch pounds of torque. Using a calibrated torque screwdriver, at less than 20 inch pounds of torque the brass mounting nut pulled out of the clamp rendering the clamp useless and gouging the frame of the Glock 17 I was installing it on. The Sightmark representative I contacted stated that they would replace the laser but not pay for the damage caused to the firearm that occurred by following their instructions.
Also the product I received from Optics Planet on March 3, 2024 was manufactured more than 3 years ago in China sometime in January 2021.
Do yourself a favor and buy something else
