Nice little rimfire scope - Sightron SI Series 3-9x32mm 1 inch Tube Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

Three years ago, I purchased a Ruger 10/22 for my oldest son and topped it with a Sightron SI Hunter 2-7X35 Rimfire Riflescope w/ Crosshair Reticle. It has been a great little combo; the 10/22 is the rifle against which all others are judged, and the Sightron scopes definitely represent a great value for quality optics.

Now that his younger brother is a bit older, I bought another Ruger 10/22 and wanted to repurchase the same scope, but I found that Sightron had discontinued the model. After looking around a bit, I found this little Sightron SI Series 3-9x32mm Riflescope and figured it was "close enough" to his brother's so as not to start a family feud.

Like the other, the glass is crystal clear, and the quality of the construction is exactly what I expected after living with the 2-7X35 for the last three years. I did buy medium-height (Vortex) rings for it and wished I had bought the low versions as the scope's front objective sits high enough over the rifle's rear sight that I didn't even have to fold it down, but this was my own fault.

I grew up with 4x32 and 3-9x32 Tasco and Bushnell scopes on my Marlin semi- and bolt-action rimfire rifles, and these Sightron scopes are in an entirely different league. If you looking for something just a bit nicer than the standard budget scope options, this one is definitely worth considering.
