The Sightron SII 4-16x 42mm Big Sky Riflescope is a superb instrument. The optical picture is crystal clear, as the coatings have been selected for maximum light transmission and the lenses bring the scene into sharp focus. The mil-dot reticle is another plus, as it provides a straight forward way to adjust for both bullet drop over distance and crosswinds. Finally this scope is even useful in short range competition, since the minimum focus is just 30 feet--Amazing.
The only drawback--this scope is not free. However if you have the resources to invest in a Sightron, you will notice the difference between this scope and its 200-300 dollar competitors the moment you raise it to your eye.
Pros: Superb clarity, 10 yd minimum focus, 1/8 M.O.A. clicks, mil-dot reticle
Cons: Pricey
