Legacy Reviewer's Review of Simmons 8 Point 3-9x50mm Rifle Scope

This scope is super-sensitive to eye placement behind the eyepeice. If you're off, the edges of the view get real fuzzy, and it gives bad reflections from surrounding light. But even worse, with the rifle locked down in a vice, slight movements of the eye from center (but within tolerance for aforementioned problem) cause the point of impact as indicated by the cross hairs to move around on the target - ALLOT. It's very difficult to get good groupings with this scope; recommended only for the most expert of marksmen - you will need the skill to get good results. Another issue is the recticle adjustments. Easy to do without tools, but the 1/4 MOA "clicks" aren't good clicks; very soft and spongy - it's very easy to lose count when moving them. I bought two of these for my 9 year old daughter's first guns; after working with them for a day and a half; I set them aside and bought her a Leupold VX-1. Proof once again: You get what you pay for.
Pros: Cheap
Cons: Requires allot of skill from shooter to get good groups
