Most Helpful Positive Review She Hunter
I finally broke down and purchased my own rangefinder, so I could quit borrowing my husband's or son's. I'm a big girl now! I always enjoyed watching and filming deer, but didn't actually squeeze a trigger until about 4 years ago; now, I'm addicted, but not trigger happy,by any means. I still lov...

Most Helpful Negative Review The price made it worth it
Its good to about 300 yards if it finds a surface it likes. Its real good inside 200 yards. The claim of 600 yards is only hitting a well lit store front window in the dark. Any other time 300 is its max usable range. Pros: Price Cons: Optics

Best range finder for the price (and better than some that cost double)

by Dave Centoni Sr., Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on May 9, 2016
If you are looking for a range finder that's good for hunting or zeroing this is the one. You don't need anything crazy, just buy this one and spend the rest of your money on beer and ammo. You're welcome.
Pros:
  • Does everything it should and does it really well
  • Ridiculous price
Cons:
  • For the price? None.

Simmons range finder

by Anthony, from GA, United States Written on March 27, 2015
So far this product is everything I expected. I been using it for turkey hunting and target practice. The first battery is still holding strong. Great product for the buck. Also it's a very light weight addition to all my other gear ...that's a big plus

For the price and my needs; perfect

by Dave, from CA, United States Written on February 26, 2015
works great. I took it to a nice range and tested it against the measured targets and it was dead on. Now when I go to the desert and walk out my target I know it's exact. Just what I wanted. It came with a padded case even, what more could you want?

its just ok...

I have had this range finder for a few months. First I should tell you that I bought mine at dunhams for $99.99, so not sure what's up with optics planets price. This range finder leaves a lot to be desired, but hard to explain. It seems if any object even the tiniest is between u and the target like a leaf, twig, blade of grass, it will tell u the small objects range. I know obviously it ranges what its aimed at but it seems to range whatever I'm trying to look around or thru. While hunting with this when I get to my spot I range a few objects so in a hurry I will know the range to it, but I find myself saying, "oh bull*^%$" on a lot of the ranges just saying...

Much lighter and compact than anticipated.

by farmhand, from TN, United States Written on September 9, 2014
Recieved today, unboxed and was much much lighter than I expected. Size was great too. Should be a great addition to anyone's hunting supplies. I was surprised to see it did not come with a teather cord but not a big deal.
Pros:
  • Size, Weight, Fit-n-Finish
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting, range shooting

Performs as described!

by Ace, from KY, United States Written on August 29, 2014
I recently purchased the Simmons LRF 600 with tilt intelligence. I have ranged up to 200 yards at the local range and it is on the money. This is the best bang for my buck that I could have hoped for. Also, the fine folks at Simmons offered a rebate which made the bang even louder! The Optics Planet associates were kind and easy to work with as I called in the order and the delivery was very prompt. Thanks Optics Planet for what you do!

You've gotta' have one of these if you're a golfer!

by BobbyL, from MN, United States Written on August 29, 2014
Do you want to know the "EXACT" distance that your golf shot needs to be? THIS IS THE PRODUCT!
I compared this to my "Swami 4000" GPS to show me front/middle/back of each green and this product is
unbelievable! Both showed the distance either exactly the same or within a yard or two! This will
help your game as long as you know how far you can hit each iron. It has literally taken 8 - 10 strokes
off my game now that I am not guessing the distance when I'm not in the fairway.
A great price and a really, really great product that is extremely simple to use and is truly accurate
and dependable! Yup, my friends also wish that they have one of their own. Told them where they can get one
and now it's up to them!

Okay...but

by Butch, from MI, United States Written on August 26, 2014
I needed a rangefinder for a single project and this one was certainly priced right. It even works well trying to locate specific trees in some heavy woods. But, ..... If I needed one for the long term, I would look elsewhere. I could use better light, longer ranges and a little crisper optics and read outs. Overall, the function and the convenience of a 9 volt battery made this project possible, but not as pinpoint accurate as I had hoped.

If I were to grade this product solely on Simmons' customer service, I would have given zero stars so I guess 3 stars here is pretty good.
The rebate that was offered definitely made my final decision, even though I had seen several warnings here and elsewhere about Simmons It turned out to be all true, the rebates are a sham. I sent all the forms they required in their instruction sheet, got a card in a few days confirming the receipt of the form and saying they would process my refund in a "few days". FIVE weeks later,I got a letter saying I needed to send more, but I had already sent the papers and could not send them again. I have several Simmons scopes, but will not be getting any more - their loss will be far larger than the rebate and makes you wonder why they bothered to offer the thing in the place.

Good bang for the buck

by live2fly1, from CA, United States Written on August 2, 2014
Purchased this with little expectations due to the price in comparison to what other products are listed at. It ranges targets well, obviously the further away the more time and care need to be exercised in order to lock on.

Over all, simple and easy to use. A good, inexpensive rangefinder.
Pros:
  • Inexpensive
  • Easy to operate
Cons:
  • None
