Simmons master series 10x42 binoculars - Simmons 10x42 Master Series Binoculars - Waterproof Fogproof Binoculars

I purchased three of these to give to members of my family for Christmas. I opened all three to make sure they were okay and found that the adjustment wheel on all three scopes would slip and the outer cover on the wheel actually comes off. Seems like they didn't use enough adhesive or did not contemplate that the binoculars may be used in the cold and they needed to use an adhesive that would hold up in cold weather. I am debating whether I should return them or use a better adhesive to glue on the outer cover of the adjustment wheel to the actual adjustment wheel. Everything else on the binoculars appears to be well made and designed.

I have used Simmons products for over 15 years and have never encountered something like this. It should have been discovered in the manufacturing process but with all the recent quality control issues with products made in China, I shouldn't be surprised. The sad thing is that I am an American born Chinese and I was hoping they could get their act straight.
Pros: High quality optics, good feel, nice covers
