goodemachine's Review of SKB Cases Skeet Gun Case
The good: this case perfectly fits a Browning Citori 725 Sporting, 30" barrels with extended chokes - 30.75" OAL - plus the Briley tube sets. Also, the price is right compared to the Americase alternative. The interior is sort of non-descript mottled gray soft stuff; not super elegant, but probably won't show oil marks either.
The could-be-better: The lid half of the case won't lay flat when you open it. The feet on the main part of the case stop the lid from folding all the way down so the open case sort of rocks back and forth, putting unneeded stress on the hinge. Second, there is no positive retention for the tubes except for the inner divider. If you forget to snap the divider, the tubes all fall out when you open the case. Finally, the space provided for tools is a little too small for the hammer that Briley supplies with their tube sets - a Briley problem, not SKB's fault. I shortened the hammer handle by 1" and it's all good.
