Robert Jackson's Review of SOG Specialty Knives & Tools SEAL Team 12.3 inch Fixed Blade Knife

My first disappointment was when I took it out of the case and realized it had a stamp made in Taiwan. The legendary SOG company is not made in America. Is that a bad thing not sure, but not what I expected. Wish I would of keep my paperwork. It does have a nice feel and balance. Full tang, appears it is good steel and should hold an edge. The grip is not to my liking. I can't make up my mind if it is cheap feeling or just terrible material used. I should of done more research about this knife. I do not like it. Not worth it for the money. I actually thought it was a knife used by the Navy Seals. It has apparently gone through ever test in the world to qualify it as a great knife. Personally I would of rather bought an OKC that is made in America and really military issue from all branches of the service. Depends on what you are looking for. I really wish it would of stated it was not official military issue or that it was not made in America. Especially at this price range. Just personally not what I wanted or expected. I must be the only one disappointed in this knife judging by the other comments, but I used to own a SOG when the name meant something.
Pros:
  • full tang
  • It is a knife
Cons:
  • not worth the money
  • Not made in America
  • cheap, rough, handle
  • SOG is not what it used to be
Best Used for:
  • camping
  • hacking things and not worring if it breaks.
