Beauty married to function! It is about time that boot manufacturers realize that a product can serve a useful purpose, and still be attractive. Putting a foot in these boots felt like sliding into a warm butter-soft blanket. The available colors of this boot are all attractive, but I went with the "cattail" because it is a rich chocolate fudge color. I am a true size 8 1/2 when it comes to sneakers. I ordered a 9 to allow room for winter socks. They were immediately comfortable. No bunching, no binding at the toe area, and so instantly warm! I had a favorite pair of Sorel boots that I wore for over ten years, until I wore them out. I am thrilled that these appears to be of the same quality that I am used to. The leather is soft and supple. The prominent stitching that joins the shaft to the boot looks quite heavy duty. All in all, I am very happy with these boots.
