A 5-star camera that I only down graded because it uses a micro SD card. Outstanding D/N picture clarity and field of view. It does have a 78 deg FOV and deer standing on the peripherals are just as clear. It says a 60' flash range and that looks about right and note deer standing in the background (50') are just as clear up front. Unlike my favorite wide angle camera 58 degs, Spartans FOV stays the same during the day and night. Sensors are excellent, this is the only camera that has taken more pics in 24 hrs as my favorite cam (I test them on the same tree and I always test new cameras, even the same brand as my favorite, to make sure I am not missing pics and to compare quality of pics) and this one took 20% more pics and the clarity was just as good if not better. More pics wasn't from birds, it was actually from deer moving around outside the view of my best camera. I am definitely buying a few more of these to add to my arsenal. NOTE: the only other thing users should be aware of is wide angle lenz pics cause the target, in this case deer, look smaller or a little further from the camera...about 25% smaller. So, this is a great camera for those wanting wide FOV and 50-60' ranges. Hope that makes since.
