This holster works great for me - Specter Gear 530 Tactical Thigh Holster, S&W M&P 9/40 with 4 1/4 in. Barrel, Right or Left Hand

I like that this holster can be raised. I have it in set up so it is higher on my thigh. My M&P 40 feels secure. One drawback is when I close the strap that secures the holster the beaver tail gets in the way. But after adjusting around the beaver tail it fits just fine.
Pros: It fits the M&P 9/40
Cons: The beaver tail gets in the way of strap that secures
