Spikes trigger guard - Spikes Tactical Billet Trigger Guard

I have a Spikes billet trigger guard, bought it and Spikes stripped forged
lower at same time maybe 2 years ago was kept around for a future build. I finally run out of stuff to do with the quarantine and all so decided to do the build. Spikes forged lowers have been my favorite build. When went to assemble trigger guard came a big shock guard is held in place by a split pin and a small set screw. The set screw was too short when tighten down it passed completely thru the ear of the lower. I dont kno why would love an answer as of right now I am out $30.00 for a paperweight.
