Cheap construction - Springfield Armory XD/XD Mod.2/XD-M .45 ACP 13 Round Magazine

The Springfield XD pistol is well-made and rugged. It is accurate and fun to shoot. The magazines, however, appear to have been made from thin and cheap sheet metal. After only a few hundred rounds, the forward face just above the notch in the mag, is battered and deforming. Makes me wonder how long before it fails. Compare it to manufactures who take pride in the rugged quality of their magazines, and this one falls way short.

I'll wait until an aftermarket mag is available to upgrade. Meanwhile, Pakistan is good at working stainless steel objects, perhaps Springfield can contract them to make a better quality mag.

It's a good solid $9.99 magazine and NOT worth the $27 catalog price.
