Classy edc for jeans or dress slacks - Spyderco Chaparral 2.8in Folding Knife

Although a newer model, the Chaparral is a highly evolved Spyderco design made to exacting tolerances and with proven materials. It's fair to call it a smaller, slimmer Sage 1, similar in size to the carbon fiber M. Walker model. With double liners it is arguably more solid in construction than either, yet still very lightweight. Its carbon fiber is actually more matte and 'grippier' than than the more shiny CF Spydercos. Some reviewers elsewhere say the 2mm blade is too thin and therefore fragile, yet It is stiff not flimsy and I really don't see how it would fail in everyday chores. If anything, the thinner, full flat-ground stock makes for a better slicer esp for fruits, cheeses, salami, cardboard, etc. Some will find the lock back too 'boring,' but it is tried and true and makes the knife equally usable for southpaws as well as righties. Equally at home, too, in jeans or slacks. Overall an elegant, compact package.
