up on the roof's Review of Stack-On Full Length In Wall Shotgun Steel Cabinet

This can be mounted upside down so the hinge can be left or right. I have a 10/20 takedown with scope mounted as well as a AR platform 12 inch bbl with AAC silencer 300 blackout in this safe also holds at least one pistol 9mm Sig 226 with tirant silencer and a few magazines for each.

So the space is fair for what looks like a large electric panel. In fact I have electric panel stickers on the door to complete the fakery. As far as locked safety this door can be breached in minutes with a strongbar, so don't think this is a true 'safe'. But it is a locked cabinet with a strong locking system.

This was also mounted on an outside wall.. which means it was mounted on the inside of my home but on a wall which the exterior is subject to outdoor weather. As such I was careful to drill the concrete block and fill with foam insulation as much as possible before covering the block with a vapor barrier (sticky ice and water shield). Did so because I wanted to limit outdoor weather influence on the interior of this safe. Not entirely effective but with dessicant and occasional opening of the door (leaving it open when possible) it keeps the guns room temperature.

Oh and hung a 3x5 'Don't Tread on Me' flag over the safe/electric panel to also allow occasional opening of door without exposure to view.

Used my own screws (Tapcons) into the sidewall studs for better strength (those with safe are cheap steel). Only a minor dent as it came FEDEX which is far better than UPS regarding packaging care. Not crazy about outdoor labeling on box as it advertizes the safe to everyone who's handling along shipping network (anti gun shippers might abuse intentionally).

All in all a very good value and answer if you want to spread your guns around the house while keeping them safe.
Pros:
  • Cheap, sturdy, looks good
Cons:
  • None
