Matt S.'s Review of Steel Will Gekko Folding Knife
The model I got is the 1505, D2 steel blade in a black finish with Maroon Micarta Handles.
Very impressed. I really like D2 steel and this knife did not disappoint.
I have become very used to lockback knives since I am a Spyderco fan, but was still impressed by how smooth this knife opens.
The blade is just under 4 inches but it doesn't seem obtrusively large in the hand or overly intimidating in the presence of others
Well balanced and fairly light for the size.
The maroon micarta handles are quite eye catching and should only get better with age.
The knife rides nicely in the pocket, especially for a full size knife. Beefy pocket clip supports the knife well can be setup lefty or righty but only for tip up carry.
There is a lanyard hole if you prefer to add one and the bottom of the handle does come to a bit of a point for striking purposes if needed.
I try not to put this knife through any hard abuse but it has held up nicely to the routine abuse my daily carry knives go through. If needed, I am confident it would perform in critical situations.
Easily my favorite Steel Will knife and one I almost always get a compliment or question about when I carry it.
All in all a very welcome addition to my knife family.
