I have been using these for many years for over night sailboat races, and dear hunting. At night you can see the sails of other boats really well and using the compass, can triangulate positions from known land masses. Hunting with a friend you can spot an animal and note the position on the compass, hand the bino's to a friend and tell them the position to look. Very handy
