Legacy Reviewer's Review of Stoney Point Filled Shooting Bags

This rear bag isn't much different than the bags made by some other companies. The description is basically spot on so I won't get into the raw details. I bought the compact bag so it would fit it in my range bag more easily without taking up as much space and it didn't disappoint in that regard. I've only used it once so far, so I'm not sure how long the cradle lining will last but most of these bags wear out after a while especially with regard to the stitching. When I took the bag out of the box, it was a bit over-filled (usually the case with these things) so I just let some of the plastic pellets out so the base would sit flatter on the table. It's better to get a bag over-filled than under-filled. I wasn't sure I absolutely needed a rear bag as I mainly shoot a heavy bench gun whose weight is mainly taken up by my Caldwell Rock front-rest. The price was cheap enough though, and I figured a rear bag would eliminate even more movement, so I said "what the heck" and bought it. It's one of those simple, self-explanatory and entirely unexciting accessories that I've managed to explain more thoroughly than was needed. It helps eliminate more human error by holding the butt end of the gun up so you don't have to think about it as much. It does that, it's decent, it's cheap - The End.
Pros: ready right out of the box, a bit cheaper than some other comparable rear bags
Cons: smaller bag may = less stable (known before purchase)
