I had a storm lake threaded barrel for the pistol but CT went and said that was constructive possession of an assault weapon (pistol with threaded barrel) so I sent it to Free America for safe-keeping until I move there. I just purchased a storm lake non threaded one which I can carry with me (in the gun) without running afoul of the asinine gun control laws in this pitiful state, but I digress.
These barrels are very well made, better than Smith and Wesson ever made. check the rifling side by side and you'll see what I mean.
