The tube rail holds the light, but if you want it directly under the tube the screws hit the barrel. I moved the rail tube to the side and it works. I would like to put it under the tube for better light distribution, but I don't want to scratch my barrel. Streamlight needs to redesign it.I have it mounted on an Remington 870.
