Not sure how many people need to know or actually know, but it's intrinsically safe. It's also got a good battery and is bright with a semi tight beam that penetrates through good and steam adequately. I carry it on my radio harness at work and got another one since liked it to the point I replaced what I had in the garage and personal vehicle. Vehicle charger, wall charger, and a flashlight holsters have been purchased also since I actually use the thing.
