I can actually charge my gun now - Strike Industries Extended Latch AR Charging Handle

I have a low mount scope so it is pretty hard to get a good grip on the charging handle, especially with gloves. This seems to take care of the problem. It sticks out far enough that it is easy to grab but not far enough to be a problem. It functions smoothly and looks decent. I haven't fired it yet but I see no reason why it won't work well. The latch seems secure. If I ever need another charging handle in a situation like this I will probably buy another.
