Austin's Review of Strike Industries Glock Extended Magazine Floor Plate

So I just ordered 3 of these today for my Gen 5 Glock 23. I installed them on my magazines and figur3d out there os a trick to fitting all 4/5 extra rounds into it.

The spring that came with it is more of an extra strength spring rather than and extended length spring. With that said, I would say there is a break in period for the spring. Right after you install the whole plate/ spring assembly, before you put any ammo in it, you gotta get a pencil or a punch and work the spring all the way down and back up a few times. When you do this, you'll here the spring adjust, causing it will seat a bit better without binding up.

Now here is the trick.

If you dont have a mag loader, i suggest you get one for the break in period of this product. The Glock brand mag loader is only $2.

For my Glock 23, i was only able to load 2 extra (40s&w) rounds in by hand and the 3rd wasnt happening. So this is where the mag loader comes in. You gotta put the mag loader on and hold pressure down with your thumb, then you are gonna have to slam the base plate into the palm of your other hand and it is gonna push those rounds down so you can add one more round. Then repeat that until you have all the extra rounds added.

After that, I emptied the mag and refilled it the same way a few times to make sure that there spring functioned properly.

Once that spring gets broken in, you should be able to load all your extra rounds in by hand.

I had everything I needed to make this work, and I figured it out pretty quick, so I'll go ahead and give out 5 stars.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Lightweight
  • Cycles Well
Cons:
  • break-in period
  • Need A Mag Loader To Utilize Full Potential
Best Used for:
  • Ignoring Magazine Bans
  • More Chances To Kill The Bad Guys If You Are A Bad Shot
  • Defending Your Dog
