Murph's Review of Strike Industries PDW Stock

I have put this stock on my 6.5in 300 BO SBR build and though I haven’t shot it yet I can at least give you initial impressions and my interaction with the manufacturer so far. When planning the build I contacted the manufacturer about buffer weights as this does run a proprietary buffer system. Long story short they assured me that it will cycle with that short of a gas system as they have other customers who have done the same. So rest easy if that is your concern when building for what I think this stock is meant for, the shortest gun possible. I will update if I find otherwise. Installation was typical strike industries, ie insanely smooth and easy. I have some concern about the ability of the castle nut to remain in place under recoil. I have added some loctite and will monitor and update if necessary. Something else I would call attention to would be your armorers tool. The tracks the stock run in will complicate the attachment of many armorers tools. The company says any spanner should work, so I ordered an aim sports armorers wrench because it had a longer spanner side to it. The spanner side of the wrench was useless with the stock tracks getting in the way, but the castle nut wrench fit fine. I just had to make little tiny turns due to space available. Overall I love the stock. Fully extended and with a 6.5in barrel my rifle measures 22.75inches.
Pros:
  • Good customer service from OG manufacturer, good construction, relatively easy install, short
Cons:
  • Specific features on tools required.
Best Used for:
  • PDW.
