That's right, I said it. Why? The Superlative Arms gas block has a patented system where it can either block OR bleed of gasses. How it works: The block ships in the closed position. Turn the allen key 4 1/2 turns counter clockwise and it is now fully open acting like a standard gas block. If you want to slow down (reduce gas pressure) you have two options. Turn clockwise and you begin blocking the gas port, just like any other gas block. However, you have 18 clicks of adjustments for fine tuning. OR, continue turning counter clockwise and the gas port remains fully open, but you now bleed off pressure through the port in the front of the block. This allows you to allow the gasses to escape the system rather than remain in the barrel. When shooting suppressed, it lessons the "pop" sound signature at the ejection port. Testing shows this is worth a couple of decibels, the more gas you let escape, the quieter your suppressed weapon will be. It's only a couple of decibels so you may or may not notice by ear, but sound carries by distance, your noise perimeter will shrink. Since you have less gas going through the can, it will run cooler and withstand sustained rates of fire longer. Your can will thank you.
