Most Helpful Positive Review Good But Not Great
I own many Surefire lights and this light is very very bright, but the machining and finish is not as good as older Surefire lights that I have. I feel that Surefire’s quality has been slipping lately. The machining of the aluminum around the bezel is not done smoothly. However the light output is ...

Most Helpful Negative Review Surefire back up review
The light is compact and very bright for its size. While it does not project a focused beam or hotspot if you will, it does project the wall of light it claims. It is a well and evenly dispersed wall of light. I’d liken it to fog lights on a car but as bright as the low beam.

Lightweight Light with max vision power E1B-MV

by IronSight, Verified Owner from WA, United States Written on February 6, 2025
Out of the packaging, the E1B-MV is compact in length and the fit and finish are excellent. By lightly pressing on the activation button it is intuitive and easy to use to make quick light on/off searching easy. The 400 lumens helps light up a room nicely when in doors. The quick double tap to get the 5 lumens is a bonus and works well - and gives you much longer battery run time at the 5 lumens setting. Pressing the activation button all the way results in it staying on without having to hold the button - it is actually a very intuitive and good system.

My New Daily Carry

by Jay, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 3, 2025
Although it’s not perfect (no pocket clip) the light is an excellent performer in most cases with good runtime, unquestionable durability and simple to operate in any situation. Along with the Thyrm low profile carry clip it has become part of my EDC.

Great EDC light

by Ben, Verified Owner from PA, United States Written on January 13, 2024
I’ve been looking for a light like this for so long and never saw it under the Surefire lineup. I only saw it a few months ago when watching a Wranglerstar video. I own the Surefire EDC-2 and it’s just too big and I have a streamlight micro stream that is great but just not enough power for most applications. Been carrying the backup everyday since I bought it and has done what I needed it to do. I’ve dropped it a few times with no issues and ran it continuously on for about 2 hours on multiple occasions. Held up in hot, cold, and wet weather.

The only real downside to this light, for me, is somehow I’m accidentally turning it on while it’s clipped on my pocket and I don’t notice till it starts to burn my leg. Never had this with any other light and I own quite a few. This is why I’m giving it 4 stars.

Tough little bugger...

by Roadie, from TX, United States Written on December 14, 2020
The form-factor of this light is terrific. It easily fits in your pocket without sticking you or causing any discomfort. The lumens are equivalent to a much larger light, and satisfactory for any job you might need to do. And since it's a Surefire, the fit, finish, and quality are superb.
Pros:
  • Fit and finish
  • Perfect size
  • Extremely bright
Cons:
  • None

Be Sure with Surefire E1B backup

by EDC N ME, from PA, United States Written on December 15, 2018
I bought this back up light knowing the brand for my edc kit. There are plenty of dark places now that winter is here and this little puppy lights them right up with 2 modes the full 400 lumens is bright enough to light up a fully blackened hallway. I do wish it had other features maybe a strobe but hey size is what I bought it for and in my pocket with added wrist lanyard I don’t worry about losing her. Best light I own.
Pros:
  • Size & Weight
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • EDC / CCW

Great for EDC

by Zac, Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on June 24, 2018
I love this light. I am using rechargeable 16340 batteries and it works for most all of my needs. The beam is bright but a flood beam pattern, especially useful for indoors. However it is bright enough at night to help me with feeding dogs and chickens.

Purchased as my first Surefire light and was not disappointed. I have many other brands of lights and was expecting nothing but perfection with this one. Simple UI with 2 modes. I run a Rcr123a 3.7v rechargeable in it with zero issues.
Pros:
  • Pocket friendly, UI, can use rechargeable batteries, mv beam.
Cons:
  • None that come to kind.

  • EDC
