I am mounting the Surefire L72 on a S&W M&P-15X. The L72 is housed in a self-assembled M550 housing (Surefire parts; A12 Battery Adapter, A21 housing body, M10 1" Ring and Surefire XM07 tail cap switch) all purchased here; "Surefire Build-Your-Own" configurator. Easy to assemble (battery install instructions in the manual are backwards), I had the LAM assembled and sighted in at 30 yds in about 20 minutes.
Pros: Red laser visible in daylight, adjustable/lockable x/y axis prism zeroing, durable housing
Cons: Expensive, compatible self-assembled M550 or Millenium Weaponlight housings are longer and bulkier then most other laser modules
