Good range and glass, but that's it. - Swarovski Laser Guide 8x30 Laser Range Finder 70002

It seems high quality. It is large and heavy, but that may not matter. I wish it had an option to display horizontal distance to target like other range finders that are much less expensive than this one.

The glass is clear and bright as you should expect.

I bought this for ranging out to over 1000 yd. I was hoping it would meet that requirement. I was very happy when I was able to range out to over 1 mile. It did take a few tries, but in a few seconds, I had a reading.

The auto dim feature is the worst part. Many times it dims down way too much so that the display is not legible. You have to get the reading, then quickly move it to a different background so that you can read it. It should just have a manual brightness setting.
Pros: Clear, bright image. Longest range at price point exceeds rating. Ranged hillside at over 1700 yd (1 mile).
Cons: Auto dim feature works poorly. No inclination readout or correction to horizontal distance. Big and heavy.
