What happened to the over the counter warrenty? - Swift 4-12x40mm Premier Rifle Scope - 676, 676M & 676S

I have swift scopes on all my rifles all were purchased new at a sporting goods store in Oklahoma and 1 from Optics Planet. The 4x12x40 Premier on my 243 A-Bolt broke in October, I took it back to where I bought it and the dealer said they dont carry the Swift line anymore because the rifle scope company is owned by someone other than Swift Medical Insterment company. The dealer told me I would have to go online and get a return number. I emailed the company in Boluder, Co and was told to send the scope along with a check for $25.00 and they might warrenty the scope. I was told Swift Sport Optics doesnt have the lifetime warrenty anymore reguardless of when you bought your scope! To me that's dirty pool right there!!! It's been 3 1/2 weeks since I sent the scope in, they cashed the check but wont return my phone calls or emails????? :(
Pros: Owned scope about 8 years lots of good use out of it.
Cons: Eye objective broke after sighting in this fall of 2011
