Great binocs - but fatal flow - Swift 930 Ultra Lite 10x42 Binoculars - Waterproof Birding Binoculars

I love Swift binoculars and my last pair lasted >15 years. I am an ornithologist and I use my binocs every day. I used this pair to study shorebirds and I was initially very impressed but within 2 weeks the pin that attaches the neck strap fell out, dumping the binocs into the sand. I tried to get it fixed locally and they said the hole was stripped. When I contacted the company they just referred me to a place where I could get it fixed. I heard that they have not fixed the flaw.
Pros: relatively light, clear, easy focus
Cons: pin for neckstrap fell out - poorly manufactured
