This does add a little bit of weight, but the benefit of having a pistol that fits into an inconspicuous backpack for transport makes this add-on indispensable. You cannot use the Magpul Armorer's wrench, so makes sure you have one that is open ended and thin enough to fit often the plate and the folding mechanism.
Pros:
- Easy to install
- well made
- collapseable
- Adds some length to very short pistol buffer tubes
Cons:
- Not all Castke Nut tools will work to install
