Legacy Reviewer's Review of Tactical Assault Gear Banshee Rifle Plate Carrier

I can not believe how high quality this carrier is for the price. As a former U.S. Army Airborne Infantryman and a private military contractor with years of combat deployments I have worn everything from the junk the military issues to 4 thousand dollar carriers only operators have access to. I grabbed this carrier up as a back up for a spare set of plates I had lying around and I could not believe the quality for the price. This carrier is better than many that are sold in the 300-600 dollar range. Most carriers in that price range do not adjust properly anyway. The plates in them sit way to low and leave you upper vitals exposed. The shoulder straps in the banshee adjust to raise the plates. The adjustment bands stow away neatly for a streamlined, professional look. The plates fit extremely snug and do not have any room to wiggle inside of the carrier so you don't have to worry about them sliding around. The pictures do not show it but there is a sturdy drag handle on the back. This is a MUST for combat applications.
There are two minor cons for the banshee plate carrier. The first one is that the front flap of the carrier that folds down to seal the carrier in place extends down and back around the bottom of the plate. Although there is a small strap sewn to the flap that hangs down a couple inches below the carrier to help you grab the flap it is kind of awkward to don or remove the carrier at that point. For the price it is by no means a deal breaker, especially considering the overall high quality material and design. The other con which is potentially a large one depending on user preference is that the cumber-bun (side flaps) are too small to except common plates and soft armor. Other reviews state that they do not open at all. That is not correct. The cumber-bun opens on each side near the back via velcro sealed slits. If the cumber-bun was a couple inches taller it would be perfect for soft armor.
Over all it is a fantastic carrier at an incredible price. None of the guys I work with believed I bought it for the price I did. I have been using it for a month now in theater and it has been outstanding.
Pros: High Quality, Low Price, Great Fit
Cons: Slightly awkward closure flap, cumberbund should be taller to accomadate soft armor or plates
