Rob's Review of Tactical Solutions .900in Trail-Lite Compensator

I never thought it would be as effective as it turned out to be... aside from that, I do have one tip to offer. I bought the gloss black one and there's no doubt that this has improved my shooting skill and enhanced the appearance of my gun but the one thing I did notice after shooting several thousand rounds through my pistol is that I have to periodically check the Compensator as it has a habit of loosening up after shooting 30 or 40 rounds. I am hesitant to use lock-tight on the threads as it is somewhat messy and I like to remove the compensator to give it a thorough cleaning at the end of the day. What I have discovered is that by using a simple "O" ring purchased from the plumbing aisle of your Home center, there are two sizes that fit perfectly over the thread and produce enough friction to keep it tightly mounted to the barrel. You might want to try your luck with either a #7 or #8 "O" ring. The #7 is the thinner of the two and allows the compensator to fit tightly against the barrel. If you need something that offers a little more friction, the #8 is a thicker "O" ring but with the same ID and fits snuggly over the barrel thread. I thought you might find this useful.
Pros:
  • precision made
  • beautiful finish
  • Better Grouping
Cons:
  • Cleaning is a challenge
